Top 3 things I have learned about Breakouts/Acne

Want to know something about me? I don’t believe in luck! Especially when it comes to getting glowing skin.

Long before a blemish appears on your skin, it has been forming deep below the surface. So tell me…what is happening below your skin’s surface? Stress, poor diet, hormonal imbalance, wrong product, inconsistent skincare routine? Unluckily for you, if you don’t address the root of the problem, symptoms will start showing up on your skin.

Here are the top 3 things that I have learned about breakouts.

  1. ACNE REQUIRES BALANCE
There’s a tendency to want to over-strip the skin with harsh cleansing agents because acne used to be marketed as a form of uncleanliness. But, if your skin feels tight right after you wash it, it may be a sign that your cleanser or product is too harsh. Look for cleansers that do not contain drying alcohols and make sure to moisturize right away. This will help balance your skin. Most acne needs to be treated with simple ingredients for inflammation and balancing oil production. You may be breaking out because you have overactive oil glands or, believe it or not, you may be breaking out because your skin is too dry. Choosing the right cleanser AND moisturizer from a licensed professional will get you off to the right start to clearer skin.
  2. ACNE RESPONDS BEST TO ROUTINE
Unfortunately, your skin won’t just clear up from luck, and you are going to have some ups and downs along the way. Like anything worth doing in life, controlling breakouts requires commitment, the right products/skincare tools, and regular facials. My acne clients are seeing amazing results from the MY SKIN BUDDY, and I know you will too. This is a great way to take your skincare to the next level. I love this quote, “Discipline is the bridge between goals and results” and find it so true when it comes to acne skin care treatments. And let’s be honest, creating and maintaining a disciplined routine is so much easier when you begin to see noticeable results quickly. I will do everything I can to support you in your skincare journey. The most important thing you can do is remember that you are beautiful, blemish or no blemish!
  3. ACNE IS A SYMPTOM
Your skin is the first sign to show you something else is happening. When we pay attention to what our skin is telling us, it can often lead us to the root cause of acne, aka symptom. Ask yourself, “what is this breakout telling me?” This may uncover nutrition depletion, imbalances in your hormones, needing a different skincare routine, or just in general needing to exercise more and sleep better. With the support of a health team including a naturopath, acupuncturist, esthetician, and/or doctor – you can uncover great insights about your health through your skin.

I would love to help you with your commitment to better skin. I have over 17 years of experience and education to help you get glowing skin, and I can’t wait to share it with you.
